INDEPENTENT
PRODUCTS FOR MODERN NOMADS – Exhibition project
INDEPENTENT (indepen-tent) is a symbol of independence: a complete house in form of a wearable tent conveys a feeling of freedom, whilst in reality hampering the wearer's manoeuvrability. Corresponding products have been developed for those who explored the world as a backpacker during university and are now in employment, but do not want to lose their personal feeling of independence.
TEXTILE PRODUCTS / Exhibtion during University Festival of Music and Theatre / Zeisehallen, Hamburg, 2000
SLEEP-WALKER | sleepwalker
For people who like to sleepwalk but do not want to freeze whilst doing so: sleeping bag can be worn as a coat by buttoning the padded pillows to the sides as sleeves.
FLIGHT-VASE | vase for frequent flyers
For people who want to take a bit of nature with them on long flights: vase can be pinned on the backrest of the seat in front with a safety pin.
TAKE-A-SEAT | chair with a shoulder strap
A product for people who have their place all over the world.
REPOSE-IN-MOTION | pocket bed
For people who are always moving about but like to be able to rest whenever and wherever they want: this bag folds out into a sleeping mat covered in cashmere.
“Conveying your personal independance, even when in full employment ;)”
NIGHT-FLIGHT | virtual night flight
For people who like to read secretly in bed at night, like a child, but do not want to do without the comfort of an adult: a torch on a strap that attaches to the head like a spelunker.
