BURDA MAGAZINE – CITY GUIDE

SPECIAL TRAVEL ISSUE – Textile Illustration Series

Instead of using the usual clichè city images from stock archives, German fashion magazine BURDA commissioned textile illustrations for a special travel issue. Nora Gres collaged beloved scenery and motifs from the featured cities and created lovely sewed illustrations, often using fabrics with local cultural relevance. The results? The waves of lake Zurich never sparkled brighter than here!

London Calling
Some tweed fabric was put to good use in this one.

I took iconic sites of every city, adding as much TEXTILE features as possible for charming, textured surfaces – and some haptic coincidences.
